Baby News

Kate and Damien are proud to announce baby no. 2 will be making an appearance at the end of April/early May. Exciting news for all but this does mean that Kate will have to restrict her concerts for the first half of the year to just the three booked in February. Have no fear she will be busy working at home writing, recording and planning so lots more to come later in the year, not to mention a sprinkling of festivals/concerts in late Summer/Autumn.

Cawthorne Summer Concerts 2011

We are pleased to report that the three outdoor concerts running over the August Bank Holiday weekend were amazing as ever. Friday evening’s rain showers did not dampen the fantastic time had by all dancing in the rain to a succession of Motown hits performed by Roy G Hemmings’ band. Kate’s concert on the Saturday night was blessed with clear skies and lots of stars (Underneath the Stars was a popular choice!) On the Sunday early evening Grimethorpe Colliery band rounded up the weekend’s events with a rousing performance enjoyed by all leaving everyone saying “Can’t wait for the next one!”

From Helmand to Horse Guards

Kate has recently contributed a track, ‘Fare Thee Well’ to an album produced by 1st Battalion, Scots Guards. A percentage of profits will go to the Scots Guards Colonel’s Fund a charity to support wounded Scots Guardsmen and bereaved families. Although this is a re-recorded version, Kate first performed the song with the Scots Guards on Jules Holland’s Hootenanny and was delighted to be asked to contribute to the album.
